WE CAN hardly believe we’re saying this, but Striker is kicking off again in its 40th anniversary season - five years after the final whistle blew.

And it’s all thanks to AI!

The incredible technology has made it possible to produce Striker 2026 at a faster speed and lower cost, opening the door to a sustainable new era for the comic.

Striker creator Pete Nash has given fans the choice of two subscription packages so they can follow the adventures of the Warbury Warriors crazy gang on a daily basis from January 1.

“AI has completely changed the game for me,” said Pete. “It’s made this comeback possible — but it’s the fans who’ll decide how far we can take it.”

THE TARGET

To make Striker sustainable, between 500 and 800 subscribers will be needed before the end of November to secure its long-term future.

If those numbers are reached, Striker’s return will be permanent. If not, Striker 2026 will still launch on January 1, but the new run will conclude at the end of the EFL season in early May.

A planned Phase Two of subscriptions in May — including a possible Kickstarter campaign — will focus on reaching lapsed and new readers once the core fanbase response is clear.

GAME PLAN FOR THE FUTURE

If the comeback is permanent, Striker will enter a new rhythm:

  • January–May, 2026: All-new Striker stories set in the modern era.

  • May, 2026: Release of Striker’s 40th anniversary book.

  • May-August, 2026 summer season: Striker goes retro — a reimagining of Nick Jarvis’s early years from 1985, when he left amateur club Oakvale for First Division Thamesford. featuring a new script and AI-assisted artwork in a drawn comic-book style.

  • August – May: All-new contemporary Striker kicks off the new 2026/7 football season..

  • January, 2027: 380-page A4 printed book of all the 2026 strips.

This pattern will set the tone for Striker’s future — blending nostalgia with a new twist in the summer with brand new episodes in the football seasons.

Where is the option to sign up to the £12.50 Package. I can only do the £3 add-on (I have nothing to add on to?) or the £3.80 for the book only, but I want to do the option 1 offer. Help!
